HAYS, Kan. — William Jewell dropped its second straight decision to open the season, falling 2-0 on the road to Fort Hays State Wednesday night at FHSU Soccer Stadium. The loss gives Jewell an 0-2 record heading into GLVC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fort Hays State broke through in the 36', converting on one of its 17 shots to take a 1-0 lead into the second half.
- The hosts added an insurance goal in the 82nd minute to seal the 2-0 result.
- Nolan Piedimonte and Ocean Comfort each fired off shots in the final 20 minutes as Jewell searched for a response, but neither found the back of the net.
