Thomas Balkcom begins his third year with the Cardinals in 2023-2024 serving as the Assistant Athletics Director for Events, Facilities & Equipment as well as the NCAA Diversity & Inclusion Designee. In his role, he oversees the day-to-day equipment and facility needs of all Cardinal teams and is the primary contact for events in athletic facilities.

• Served as a panelist for the Make Game Day Yours initiative at the 2023 NCAA Convention
• Assisted with coordination alongside the Kansas City Sports Commission of the NCAA-II women's golf east regional

• Spent time as the Associate Director of Player Personnel at Georgia Tech, overseeing logistical strategy for roster management, recruiting and serving as the NCAA compliance liaison
• Coordinated all official visits, including serving as the game day host, provided oversight of all institutional and outside camps and clinics
• Served as the professional league liaison to the NFL, CFL and Arena Football
• Recruiting and Team Logistics Coordinator for Savannah State University where he coordinated travel and on campus facility needs for the football program as well as the recruiting efforts
• Spent time in corporate America working as a manager in multiple Fortune 500 companies
• Worked for Morris Brown College and Morehouse College overseeing football equipment and inventories along with team travel
• Spent 20 years as a football coach, working primarily on the defensive side of the ball
• Twice selected to attend the NFL/NCAA Coaching Academy, an invitation provided to only an elite group of assistant coaches
• Honored as an NFL Bill Walsh Coaching Fellow twice

• Was a two-year starter at defensive back for Georgia Tech
• Co-captain of the 1990 national championship team
• Defensive Most Valuable Player of the 1991 Florida Citrus Bowl
• Signed a free agent contract with the Miami DolphinsÂ

• Earned his undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech in business management and a master's in business administration and international business and finance from American Intercontinental University
