Cardinals Down UIS 3-1 and Win Fifth Straight

First-year player Christina Pratt matched her career high with 14 kills and posted a .370 attack percentage, helping lift William Jewell to a 3-1 victory over University of Illinois-Springfield in Great Lakes Valley Conference volleyball action Friday night in Springfield, Ill.  The win marks the fifth straight win for the Cardinals. 

Jewell won by scores of 25-20, 23-25, 25-14 and 25-23 to move to 14-7 overall and 7-6 in the GLVC.
UIS fell to 4-20 and 1-12.

Junior Hannah Herndon and first-year player Jordan Jackson each finished the night with 10 kills while sophomore Cailynn Hayter had a team-high 39 assists. Sophomore Katie Damgar along with Herndon paced the Cardinals with 17 digs each.

The Cardinals will travel to Quincy, Ill., on Saturday, October 23 to take on GLVC opponent Quincy University at 3:00 p.m.
