Cardinals Start Slow, Never Recover Against Northwest

William Jewell College dropped their second game at the Hillyard Tip-Off Classic in St. Joseph, Missouri tonight, losing to Northwest Missouri State 49-37.

The Cardinals, down 8-0 after four and a half minutes, made wholesale changes to the lineup but had a tough time with the Bearcat defense..  Northwest led 22-14 at the half, and had leads on two occaisions of 14 points in the second half. 

Nick Larson led the Cardinals with 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Devonte Bell had a team-high 37 minutes coming in off the bench, and contributed 6 points.

The Cards, now 1-2, face Baptist Bible College at 7:45 Tuesday night at the Mabee Center in Liberty as their final tuneup before starting Great Lakes Valley Conference play against Quincy December 1.
