William Jewell scored 17 unanswered first-half points to open up a large lead and cruise to a win over NAIA Ottawa University Friday night 72-42 in Liberty.
Ottawa and the Cardinals were tied at 5-all when the Cards made their first half surge. Using their press game to force turnovers and easy scores, the Cardinals were able to play every player suited up for the game.
Holly Switzer had 12 points,
Chelsea Meeks and
Tesia Danner had 11 points, and
Aerial Smith had 10.
Ottawa was without their leading scorer and rebounder, Amber Ramsey, who broke her hand in a game earlier in the week.
The Cardinals are now 6-2 on the year, and will return to play on January 5 with at game at Northern Kentucky.
