The William Jewell Cardinals volleyball team is looking to close the season with some momentum and started off thier end of season road trip by edging Maryville University in five sets to gather a 3-2 win Saturday in Great Lakes Valley Conference action in St. Louis, Mo. Scores were 25-17, 30-28, 19-25, 23-25, 15-9.
The Cardinals (13-17, 7-10 GLVC) broke a two game losing streak, while the Saints (4-27, 2-16 GLVC) have dropped eight straight to end their season.
Christina Pratt led Jewell with 15 kills, senior hitter
Hannah Herndon chipped in 12 kills and 16 digs, and first-year
Kaylee Marquardt also had 12 kills.

Cailynn Hayter finished with 55 assists and 10 digs. Junior libero
Katie Damgar had 14 digs and added five service aces.
The Cards will close out the 2012 season tomorrow as they take on University of Missouri-St. Louis at 1:00 p.m. in St. Louis, Mo.
