The William Jewell College volleyball team had two players with double-digit kills on the way to a 3-1 volleyball victory over University of Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday in St. Louis, Mo.
The Cardinals ended the regular season with a 13-18 record and 7-11 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. The Tritons dropped to 13-17 and 10-8 in the GLVC.
Jewell won the first two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-20. UMSL answered by taking the third, 25-22. The Cardinals took the third set to clinch the match, 25-13.
Kaylee Marquardt led Jewell with 18 kills, followed by
Hannah Herndon with 15. Marquardt and Herndon also contributed 18 and 11 digs respectively while
Rachel Gilman posted a match high 31 digs.
Cailynn Hayter dished out a match high 45 set assists.
Liz Jaeger had 17 to lead UMSL.
The Cardinals close out the 2012 season on a two match winning streak after defeating Maryville University 3-2 on Saturday evening.
