William Jewell College basketball takes on Quincy University Saturday on their weekend road trip to Illinois.
The Cardinal women (13-7, 8-6 in the GLVC) defeated Illinois-Springfield on Thursday 64-60, and now take on the West Division leading Hawks (16-6, 11-3) for the second time this year. Quincy defeated Jewell 77-61 on December 1st as the Cardinals shot 43%, went 6-19 from behind the three-point line, and hit 11-18 free throws.
Chelsea Meeks and
Holly Switzer each had 19 points for Jewell on Thursday against UIS.
The Cardinal men (7-14, 4-11) lost to UIS on Thursday. Jewell upended Quincy in December at the Mabee Center, winning 78-70
on 59% shooting, including hitting 11-24 3ptrs on the night.
Chris Uz had 19 points against the Hawks, going 5-7 from behind the three-point stripe.
Uz had 13 points against Illinois-Springfield on Thursday, with
Nate Kroeker adding 11.
Both games can be heard on the
