Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The William Jewell College women's tennis team opened the 2012 spring season on the road  and defeated  the Lady Prairie Wolves of Nebraska Wesleyan 7-2 and the Lady Threshers of Bethel College
9-0 in Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday. 

In the first match of the day against Nebraska Wesleyan, the Cardinals came out of doubles up 2-1 winning at number one doubles 8-1 and number three doubles 8-3.  The Lady Prairie wolves won a tight 9-7 decision at number two doubles. 

In singles play the Cardinals received wins from Paula Peters, Carli Bisesi, Kristen Stivers, Loree Hazlerigg and Jaimie Baker.  

The Cardinal women then won a 9-0 decision over Bethel College who is currently ranked #27 in the latest NAIA National women's tennis poll.    The Cards dominated doubles play winning all three matches 8-2, 8-2 and 8-3.  Jewell then swept singles play winning each match in straight sets. 

The Cardinals, 2-0 on the year, will participate in the St. Joseph's College Invitational on February 25 and 26 in Michigan City, Ind.
