Box Score The William Jewell Cardinals men's basketball team snapped a five game losing streak defeating Rockhurst University 88-83 in the 2012 home finale on Thursday evening. 

Jewell held the lead for all of the first half but Rockhurst kept it close only trailing by two points at the half.

In the second half the Cardinals saw their lead evaporate and even trailed by eight with 9 minutes left to play.    Jewell then went on a 10-0 run to take the lead by two and after the Hawks were able to tie the score the Cardinals pulled away for the five point win.

Senior Nick Larson, playing for the final time in the Mabee Center scored 31 points and pulled down 14 rebounds.   Senior Chris Uz scored 17 points including four for seven from three point land. 

The Cardinals (8-17, 5-14) will head to Las Vegas, Nev., to participate in the DII Showdown and will take on Minot State on February 25 at 5:00 p.m. CST.
