The William Jewell College women's team fell 6-3 in their Great Lakes Valley Western Division Conference opener today against Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo.

Jewell came out of doubles down 2-1 as Jewell's No. 3 doubles tandem of Junior Hana Lindbloom and first-year player Kristen Stivers came away with an 8-5 win. 

The Lady Hawks then reeled off four straight singles wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 singles.  The Cardinals received wins at No. 4 from Hana Lindbloom who defeated Erin Bales 6-3, 7-6.  First-year player Loree Hazelrigg picked up a hard fought 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles. 

The Cardinals, 7-3 on the spring will travel to Overland Park, Kan., on Wednesday, March 28 for a scrimmage against Johnson Country Community College at 3:00 p.m.
