Box Score William Jewell football evened their record at 2-2 with an impressive win at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in Rapid City, South Dakota, on Saturday night.
In near perfect weather, the Cards scored on their first two drives and never looked back. Jewell put up 450 yards in offense, including 32 first downs. The Cardinals also forced four turnovers in the game, while not committing a turnover themselves.
Sean Shelton threw five touchdown passes to four different receivers, including two to
Jon Molzen. Shelton was 29 of 46 passing for 306 yards, his longest being a shot down the left sidelines for a 47 yard touchdown to Molzen just before halftime. Shelton has thrown nine touchdown passes spanning the past two weeks. Shelton also had 42 yards rushing.
Molzen had seven receptions for 122 yards and has five touchdown receptions over the last two games.
Andrew Buffa,
Scott Buffa, and
Phil Ancar each had touchdown catches, and
Glen Whitney had two touchdowns rushing.
The Cardinals return to Greene Stadium next Saturday for a Homecoming matchup with GLVC foe Central State of Ohio. Game time is 1:00 PM.
