The William Jewell College volleyball team collected their second and third straight wins as they defeated the University of Missouri-St. Louis 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 25-23, 25-21) in Great Lakes Valley Conference action at The Mabee Center on Saturday afternoon. Shortly thereafter, the Cardinals shut out Southwest Baptist University 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-22) in non-conference play.
Against Missouri-St. Louis, Senior
Hannah Herndon tallied 12 kills, and 11 digs to lead the Cardinals. Libero
Katie Damgar tallied 26 digs and setter
Cailynn Hayter added 40 assists and four kills.
Kaylee Marquardt chipped in with 12 kills, three assists, and 13 digs to help the Cardinals' cause.
In game two of the day, Herndon again led the charge for Jewell with 12 kills and 9 digs. Hayter recorded 36 assists which gave her a total of 76 on the day. Marquardt contributed 9 kills and 14 digs and
Christina Pratt tallied 7 kills.
William Jewell, 7-7 (2-3 GLVC) will continue GLVC play on Friday when they travel to Springfield, Ill., to take on University of Illinois-Springfield at 7:00 p.m.
