Jewell volleyball took on Great Lakes Valley College power Missouri Science & Technology Friday night at the Mabee Center in Liberty, Missouri, and came away empty-handed as the Miners (7-7, 3-2 GLVC) took a 25-17, 25-18, 27-25 win from the Cardinals.

The match was not without some drama, however, as Jewell (1-13, 0-5) rallied late in the third game to take a 25-24 lead and have S&T at game point before the Miners rallied to take the sweep.

S&T outhit the Cardinals .320 to .087 on the match and had a 13-5 edge in blocks.  Jewell and S&T each had four serve receive errors and four service aces, and the Cardinals served 94% on the night to S&T's 93%.

Kaylee Marquardt had nine kills and Libby Ording had eight.  Kailynn Hayer had 23 set assists while Leslie Iron had three ace serves and Kelsey Moffit had two.

The Cardinals play Drury at home on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
