The William Jewell women's tennis team earned a clean 9-0 sweep of University of Illinois-Springfield in Great Lakes Valley Conference competition on Saturday. The Cardinals improve to 13-5 overall and 2-3 in GLVC play while the Prairie Stars fall to 3-12 on the year. 

The Cards surrendered just four games in doubles play to take an early 3-0 advantage. Kristen Stivers and Katy
Lehenbauer prevailed 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Loree and Conner Hazelrigg (No. 2 doubles) won their match 8-2. 
Savannah Drew and Jaimie Baker (No. 3 doubles) blanked their opponents by a score of 8-0.

Jewell proved just as strong in singles play as the bottom three slots dominated in shutout victories. Lehenbauer won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles, followed by 6-0, 6-0 wins by Loree Hazelrigg and Carli Bisesi at the No. 5 and 6 spots, respectively.

The Cardinals will close out GLVC play tomorrow as they host Quincy University at 9:00 a.m. at Clayview Country Club.
