The William Jewell College women's tennis team was defeated 5-4 in a non-conference matchup against Washburn University in Topeka, Kan., on Monday.

Savannah Drew to win 8-2 at No. 3 doubles to earn Jewell's only doubles point of the dual.

Kristen Stivers pulled the match even with her 6-1, 6-0 match at No. 1 singles and
Carli Bisesi gave Jewell a 3-2 lead with her 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6. Washburn then won three straight matches to clinch the dual taking matches at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 5 singles respectively. Sophomore
Katy Lehenbauer won a hard fought 7-6, 6-7, 10-4 match at No. 4 singles to give Jewell their fourth point of the dual.
The Cardinals will now face Lewis University in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament quarterfinals on Friday at 8:30 a.m. ET at North Central High School in Indianapolis, Ind.
