The William Jewell College women's tennis team improved to 12-5 on the spring season, posting an 8-1 win over Missouri Western State University on Monday in St. Joseph, Mo.

Jewell swept the doubles matches and won five of six singles contests – all in straight sets.

Kristen Stivers and Katy Lehenbauer got Jewell off to a great start with 8-2 win at No.1 doubles.  Loree and Conner Hazelrigg followed suit with an 8-2 win of their own at No. 2 doubles.  Savannah Drew and Jaimie Baker completed the doubles sweep with an 8-6 win at No. 3.

The Cardinals then won five of six singles matches as Stivers, Drew, Lehenbauer, Carli Bisesi and Conner Hazelrigg all won in straight sets.

Jewell will travel to Marshall, Mo., on Wednesday April 10 to take on Missouri Valley College at 3:30 p.m.
