Truman State Knocks Off Jewell in Men's Basketball

Box Score In their first-ever meeting in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, the William Jewell College Cardinals fell to the Bulldogs of Truman State University 67-52 Saturday afternoon in Liberty, Missouri. 

The Cardinals are now 7-10 overall and 3-6 in the GLVC, while Truman State is 14-3 and 7-2.
 
Truman rolled to a lead in the first ten minutes and led at the half 37-25. The Cardinals struggled against the Bulldog defense, shooting 25% in the first half and 29% for the game, hitting 2-14 three-pointers; TSU wasn't much better from long range, hitting 4 of 22 attempts.
 
Both Dwight Sistrunk, Jr. and D'Vante Mosby ended with 14 points; with Sistrunk claiming a double-double with12 rebounds. Cyril Bilong added eight points and three boards for the Cardinals.
 
The Cardinals will travel to St. Louis Thursday for a game against Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday night, then take on Maryville University next Saturday afternoon.
