William Jewell College sophomore kicker
Brandon Womack, has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Womack helped keep the Cardinals undefeated in GLVC action and atop the league standings with two field goals and four extra points in Jewell's 34-27 road victory at Missouri S&T. The Lake Dallas, Texas, native scored the first six points for the Cardinals as he answered his opening 20-yard field goal with a 46-yarder that fell just one yard shy of the GLVC record set by S&T's Adam Peden against Wisconsin-LaCrosse on Sept. 21, 2013. Womack went on to tack on four extra points to secure the Cardinals' fourth-straight GLVC win. This is Womack's first career weekly award and the first for a Jewell special teams standout since
Thomas Cook, Jr., took home this season's first award on Sept. 8.
