The William Jewell College women's soccer team scored twice in the second half to come away with a 2-1 Great Lakes Valley Conference win over Quincy University this afternoon at Greene Stadium. The Cardinals improve to 5-2-3 on the season, 4-2-2 in GLVC play. Quincy falls to 6-4-1 overall, 5-2-1 in the GLVC.
After both sides played to scoreless draw in the opening frame, the Cardinals wasted little time getting on the board with a goal four minutes into the second half.

Madison Allshouse who found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. Jewell doubled their lead in the 55th minute when
Jade Gifford managed to get a goal when it went off the Hawks goalie and into the back of the net for a 2-0 lead. Quincy broke up the shut out when Natalie Quisenberry found the back of the net in the 83rd minute, but the Cardinals held on for the 2-1 win.

Jewell returns to action Friday, October 10 as they travel to Evansville, Ind., to take on Southern Indiana. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
