The William Jewell College men's basketball team used a strong second half Saturday afternoon to pull awary from Livin' The Dream 79-69 on Saturday afternoon at The Mabee Center.
Darius Tomlin led Jewell with 21 points and the only other Cardinal in double figures was
Emil Ostafiiciuc who pitched in 10 points in the exhibition win. Tomlin also had six rebounds and four steals.Â
Dominic Johnson led LTD with 24 points while former Cardinal Drew Matthews '06 contributed 9 points and five rebounds.Â
The Cardinals were 27-60 from the floor, shooting 45-percent, including a 51.5-percent second half and were 8-19 in the game from beyond the 3-point arc.Â
The Cards trailed 30-29 at half then held Livin' The Dream to 35.1-percent from the floor in the second half, as LTD turned in a 32.9 percent shooting afternoon.
Jewell's regular season will get underway Friday, November 21, 5:00 p.m. against Northwest Missouri State University in the Hillyard Classic (St. Joseph, MO). Saturday, November 22 the Cards continue play in the Hillyard Classis as they battle Missouri Western State University. Tip off is set for 7:00 p.m.
