Box Score In a legendary matchup Thursday night at the Mabee Center in Liberty, the Cardinals of William Jewell faced off against the Bearcats of McKendree University, with the Cardinals winning 83-79.

The headline of the night was the matchup between the two head coaches, Harry Statham of McKendree (1077 wins, best all time in any division of college basketball) and Larry Holley of Jewell (852 wins).  Together, never had so many wins by head coaches (1929) been represented in a meeting between those coaches.

The night belonged to the Cards and coach Holley, who won is third game against Statham with no losses in head-to-head matchups.

 Dwight Sistrunk Jr scored 10 points in the first half for the Cardinals, the Cardinals trailed by three at half with a score of 37-40. 
 
Four Cardinals posted double figures for the night; D'Vante Mosby chalked up 20 points and seven rebounds, Clint McCullough added 16 points and eight rebounds, Dwight Sistrunk Jr contributed 15 points, four assists and four steals and Devonte Bell added 13 points for the night.
 
On Saturday February 15^th the Cardinals take on the Prairie Stars of the University of Illinois Springfield.
