After falling 8-1 to Nebraska-Kearney on Friday, the William Jewell College women's tennis team moved to 2-2 Saturday, with a pair of victories Saturday at the Knight Fieldhouse in Lincoln, Neb.

The Cards defeated Nebraska Wesleyan in the opening match 8-1 and defeated University of Sioux Falls 7-2 in the nightcap.

Against Nebraska Wesleyan, Jewell got off to a 2-1 start after doubles as
Kristen Stivers and
Katy Lehenbauer and Conner and
Loree Hazelrigg  and won their No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches 8-4 and 8-1 respectively.  The Cards fell 8-6 at No. 2 doubles.
In singles action the Cards swept all six singles matches including a tight three set match by Lehenbauer at No. 3 singles. First-year player
Jackie Parkhill earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6. Â

In the second half of the doubleheader, Jewell earned a 3-0 lead with wins at No. 1 8-0, No. 2 8-6 and No. 3 8-3.
The Cards won four of the six singles matches with wins coming from Stivers at No. 1,
Lauren Huddlestun and No. 3, Lehenbauer at No. 4 and
Conner Hazelrigg at No. 5.Â
The Cardinals will travel next to Emporia, Kan., on March 1 to take on Emporia State University at 1:00 p.m.
