Lewis University led from beginning to end against William Jewell in Great Lakes Valley Conference men's basketball play on Saturday, scoring a decisive 94-73 win in Romeosville, Illinois.
The Flyers (18-3, 10-3 GLVC) led by as many as 33 points late in the game, and shot 63% from the field. Â They hit 13 three pointers in the game, and outscored Jewell (8-13, 4-9) 44-22 in the paint. Â The Cardinals shot just 43% from the floor.
On a brighter note,
Jordan Lewis was 6-7 from the floor, including 5-6 from beyond the arc, in leading the Cardinals with 19 points. Â Kyle Smith and
Cyril Bilong each scored 12, and
Dwight Sistrunk, Jr. had six points with five rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Â The Cardinals were 8-20 from three-point range, and hit 15-17 free throws.
Jewell returns home to face McKendree University Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
