The William Jewell College women's tennis team ran into the No. 21-ranked team in the nation and fell on Saturday as the Cardinals dropped a 9-0 contest to Drury University in Great Lakes Valley Conference action at Clayview Country Club in Kansas City, Mo. 

Jewell fell to 7-8 overall and 2-4 in GLVC play while Drury improved to 17-3 and 6-0 in GLVC.

Drury won all three doubles matches, surrendering only six points to the Cardinals. 

Sophomore Savannah Drew battled tough against  Lara Muller  at No. 2 singles before falling, 6-4, 1-6, 10-6 in what was the most competitive singles match on the day.

The Cardinals will close out the season at home on Monday, April 14 against Missouri Western State University in a non-conference dual at 3:00 p.m.
