The Jewell football team, 1-0 after defeating Southwestern Baptist University on September 4 at home, gets a stiff challenge this weekend in Arvada, Colorado as they take on national power Colorado School of Mines in a noon (local time) kickoff, 1:00 p.m. Central Standard Time.

The Orediggers (1-0) won in Rapid City, South Dakota, last weekend 49-13.

Jewell's Thomas Cook, Jr. was GLVC Special Teams Player of the Week, with a 90 yard kickoff return that put Jewell ahead to stay late in the game. Isaac Dozier had a late interception to seal the win for the Cardinals.
