Great Lakes Valley Conference Eastern Division favorite Indianapolis handed the William Jewell College volleyball team a 3-0 loss in their GLVC home opener at the Mabee Center on Saturday.

Indianapolis (4-4,3-0 GLVC) defeated Jewell (1-8, 0-3 GLVC) by Saturday match scores of 25-6, 25-13 and 25-18.

The Cardinals pulled to within 16-14 in the third set but could not hang on as the Greyhounds took the deciding set 25-18.

Lauren Holm led all Cardinals with 8 kills.  The Greyhounds were led by Hailey Brown who had a game high 15 kills and hit .538 with just one error on 26 attacks.  Amy Lindhorst led Jewell with 18 assists while Lesley Iron led the team in digs with 14.

The Cardinals will wrap up their first GLVC home stand vs. Saint Joseph's tomorrow with match time in Liberty, Mo.  First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
