Ethan Delaney's two goals helped propel the William Jewell men's soccer team to a 3-1 non-conference win over Rogers State University on Tuesday afternoon in Liberty, Mo. The Cardinals improve to 2-5-2 overall while the Hillcats fall to 3-4 on the season.
Delaney got the scoring started off his goal at the 31:19 mark when his header found the back of the net.
Rogers State would tie things up just 40 seconds into the second half.
First-year
Aaron Froehlich scored his fifth goal of the year eight minutes later to give Jewell a 2-1 lead.
Delaney then put the game away with a breakaway goal at the 88:27 mark.
The Cardinals outshot the Hillcats 18-11 including a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal.
Joe Keeven picked up the win in goal for Jewell as he saved four shots on the afternoon.
Jewell will return to Great Lakes Valley Conference action on Friday, October 3 when they host Truman State University at 2:00 p.m.
