Cardinal women's basketball fell to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with an 80-59 loss at Southern Indiana on Friday.

The Cardinals shot 33% in the game and never led.  Southern Indiana scored 36 points in the paint to Jewell's 18, dominating the lane offensively and dominating the boards with a 44-30 rebounding advantage.

Anna Hackert had 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Screamin' Eagles. Jewell was led by Makenzie Johnson and Logan Antenen with eight points each, and six rebounds from Hayli Jo Smith.  The Cardinals held a 34-32 scoring advantage off the bench.

Southern Indiana is 9-2, 1-0 in GLVC play.  The Cardinals move on to Louisville, Kentucky to face Bellarmine in noon (Central Standard Time) start Sunday.
