The William Jewell College women's basketball team continued their home stand on Saturday hosting The University of Missouri-St. Louis.  The Tritons used a strong second half effort to take down Jewell 69-49.
The Cards fall to 11-8 overall and 6-5 in GLVC action while UMSL improves to 10-9 and 6-5 in GLVC play.
Both teams had trouble finding a good shooting rhythm but Jewell was able to knock down four three pointers in the first half and led 30-27 at halftime.
The Cards led 32-30 at the 16 minute mark before UMSL went on a 12-6 run and built a six point lead.

Kelsey Nickerson helped Jewell cut the lead to two with the first two three pointers of the second half for the Cards.  UMSL withstood the run and built a nine point lead 53-44 with 4:30 to play.   UMSL built a lead as big as 15 which put the game away. 
Jewell shot only 30 percent for the game and were led by 
Aerial Smith's 14 points. 
The Cards will continue their home stand on Thursday as they host #1 Lewis University at 5:30 p.m.
