The William Jewell College women's soccer team returned home to host the University of Missouri-St. Louis Tritons in Great Lakes Valley Conference women's soccer action this afternoon. The Tritons came away with a 5-0 shutout victory dropping the Cardinals 4-6-2 overall and 2-6-1 in GLVC play. UMSL improves to 8-1-2 overall and 6-1-2 in the GLVC.
Both teams battled back and forth for much of the first half before the Tritons got on the board at the 38:03 mark when Kayla Delgado scored her fourth goal of the year to put UMSL up 1-0. The Tritons would tack on another score right before halftime when Kali Thomas found the back of the net which gave UMSL a 2-0 halftime lead.
The Tritons scored again just eight minutes into the second half when Miriam Taylor found Hannah Kaloupek who netted home her first goal of the year to extend the lead to 3-0. McKayla Harder added two more goals for UMSL four minutes apart that produced the winning 5-0 margin.
The Tritons held the Cardinals without a shot in the second half and led 17-3 for the game.
