Jewell men's basketball got their biggest road win of the year Thursday night in Springfield, Mo., upsetting the Great Lakes Valley Conference Western Division leader Drury Panthers 73-59.

The Cardinals led by eight at halftime despite losing starting shooting guard Jordan Lewis to injury five minutes into the game.  Lewis hit the only shot he took, but did not return to the lineup.

Jewell (11-13, 7-9 in the GLVC) hit 20-26 free-throw opportunities in the second half.  Christian Hildebrandt had 15 points, Darius Tomlin did not start but played 35 minutes and had 13 points, and D'Vante Mosby had 12 points before fouling out with 3:23 remaining.  Austin Regier pulled down 13 rebounds for Jewell.

Dury (16-8, 10-6) pulled to within five points with five minutes remaining, but free throw shooting by the Cardinals sealed the game.

The Cards will head to Rolla, Mo., for a matchup against Missouri S&T on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
