William Jewell women's basketball ran into a motivated Drury team Thursday night in Springfield, Mo., which was firing on all cylinders as the Panthers downed the Cardinals 88-62 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
The Cardinals (13-11, 8-8 GLVC) led by three with 90 seconds gone in the game, but it was the only lead they would have. Â Drury (21-3, 15-1, winners of 10 straight) shot 60% in the first half in building a 21 point first-half lead. Â The Cardinals shot 44% for the game, committing 21 turnovers to the Panthers 10.
Logan Antenen and
Maddie Nelson each had 10 points to lead Jewell.
The Cards will finish out the road portion of their 2014-15 campaign against Missouri S&T on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
