William Jewell sophomore Maddie Nelson had a double-double on Saturday at Missouri Science & Technology in Rolla, Missouri, teamming with fellow sophomore Chris Keys to
roll past S&T 72-69.

Keys provided 22 points and seven rebounds for the Cardinals (14-11, 9-8 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play) and Nelson had 15 points and 11 rebounds.  The Cardinals built a 19 point lead at halftime and held on to several challenges by the Miners (6-19, 2-15).

Aerial Smith had 11 points, five rebounds and five steals for Jewell.

S&T actually outshot Jewell from the field 44% to 39%, but the Cardinals had 11 more field goal attempts and hit six more three-point shots than the Miners.
