The William Jewell College women's basketball team took on University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Great Lakes Valley Conference action on Saturday. The Rangers were able to win their 11th straight contest with a 67-54 win.
Jewell falls to 11-10 overall and 6-7 in the GLVC while Parkside improves to 18-4 overall and 11-2 in conference play.
The Cards struggled from the floor in the first half and Parkside took advantage to build a 41-22 halftime lead.
Jewell cut the lead to 9 in the second half only to see Parkside stay hot from the field. Parkside was able to drain 9 three-pointers in the game including three from Sarah Mlachnik and Tara Knapstein.
The Rangers held the Cards to only 27 percent shooting in the game and
Hayli Jo Smith was the only Cardinal in double figures with 10.
The Cardinals will next head east to Springfield, Ill., on Thursday, February 12 to take on University of Illinois-Springfield. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
