The William Jewell College men's basketball team saw their season come to an end with an 80-69 loss against the University of Missouri-St. Louis in the first round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship tournament in St. Louis, Mo.
The Cards came out and shot 51 percent from the field in the first half and led the Tritons 41-40 at the half.
UMSL came out of the break and went on a key 15-0 run to go up by 14 midway through the second half. The Cards were able to cut the lead to as close as five with 3:13 to go but the Tritons were able to pull away the rest of the contest.
D'Vante Mosby,
Jordan Lewis and
Christian Hildebrandt all scored 13 points to lead Jewell.
Patrick Whelan was the fourth Cardinal to score in double figures with 12.
Jewell ends their season with an overall record of 13-14.
