The William Jewell College women's tennis team earned their third straight victory on the season as they defeated Illinois-Springfield 7-2 on Sunday afternoon at Clayview Country Club.

The Cards jumped out of the gate with two strong doubles wins 8-2 and 8-1 at No. 2 and No.3 doubles.   The Prairie Stars rallied to take No. 1 doubles by a score of 9-7. 

In singles action, UIS tied the match score with a win at No. 1 but the Cardinals dominated the rest of the way with wins from Conner Hazelrigg, Sabrine Navarro, Loree Hazelrigg, Katy Lehenbauer and Claire Mackay.    

Jewell returns to action on Saturday, March 7 against Cowley County Community College.  The match begins at 1:00 p.m. at Clayview Country Club.
