William Jewell softball ran their record to 7-1 Wednesday with a pair of five inning wins over visiting Lincoln University at the Spratt Sports Complex.Â
Jewell won the first game 13-0 behind the four-hit pitching of
Nona Pauline in the circle (3-1 on the year) and the six RBI she recorded at the plate (two doubles and a two-run homerun). Pauline struck out four and did not walk a hitter in the five inning game.
Kelsey Teneycke also homered for the Cardinals, driving in two with her three hits overall.
In game two, Jewell won again 13-0 in five innings as Pauline again homered to drive in two,
Annali Dolman hit a three-run home run, and
Faith Song and Teneycke each drove in two runs. Song went the distance in the circle, limiting the Blue Tigers
(0-13)Â to only two hits over five innings, striking out three and not allowing a walk in winning her second game of the year (2-1).
The Cardinals are scheduled to open Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Saturday at Southern Indiana University.
