The William Jewell College women's tennis team won four of the six singles matches to earn a 5-4 win at McKendree on Monday at Kings Point Racquet club in Belleville, Ill. 

After dropping two of three doubles matches, McKendree then took a 3-1 match lead when Sammy Siegel defeated Conner Hazelrigg 6-3, 6-3. 

Loree Hazelrigg earned Jewell's first singles win of the day at No. 3 singles winning 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.  Junior Sabrine Navarro saved three match points in her thrilling 1-6, 7-6, 6-4 match at No. 2 singles.  McKendree then took a 4-3 lead when Anna Mernick bested Katy Lehenbauer 6-3, 6-4.  Two first year players were able to clinch the match for Jewell.  Claire Mackay tied the match 4-4 with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles and Seki Anderson earned a second consecutive match clinching win as she edged Tori Lindsay 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6 singles. 

Jewell (6-1) is back in action against Christian Brothers on Tuesday at 1 p.m.  in Memphis, Tenn.
