The William Jewell College softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader from Northwest Missouri State University on Wednesday with 4-3 and 8-5 victories.
In game one the Cards trailed 3-2 heading into the bottom of the seventh.Â
Madi Giles hit a two run single that gave Jewell the 4-3 walk off win.
Faith Song (4-1) went the distance giving up 6 hits three runs (two earned) while striking out one.Â
Jewell jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in game two before the Bearcats cut the lead to one in the top of the fourth. The Cards then put the game away in the bottom of the fourth by scoring three runs.Â
Song led the Cardinal offense going 3-4 with three RBI's while
Kelsey Morgan went 2-3 with two RBI's.Â
Nona Pauline (6-5) earned the win on the mound tossing five innings giving up 9 hits and four runs while striking out five.
William Jewell (15-8) will resume Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Saturday when they host Maryville University at 12:00 p.m.
