The William Jewell College baseball team swept a doubleheader with University of Sioux Falls on Saturday. The games were played at Kansas City Kansas Community College and Jewell won game one 20-7 while taking game two 4-3 in extra innings.
In game one, the Cards exploded for 10 runs in the second inning and never looked back. Hunter brown knocked home six RBI's while
Bryan Rezin plated home four.
Austin Kretchmar picked up his third win of the year tossing 7 innings giving uip 9 hits, and three runs while striking out three.
In game two, Jewell jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Sioux Falls tied the game with a single run in the fourth and two in the fifth.
The game went to extra innings and in the bottom of the eighth
Luke Lucchetti hit a bases loaded walk off single to score
Dane Erbst with the winning run.
Chris Mancha (2-0) picked up the win tossing three scoreless innings giving up 2 hits while striking out three.
The Cardinals improve to 6-1 overall and will close out their three game series with Sioux Falls with one 9 inning game tomorrow at 1:00 p.m., in Kansas City, Kan.
