The William Jewell College softball team took on University of Illinois-Springfield in a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader on Friday in Springfield, Ill.
Offense was the name of the game in game one as Jewell scored two in first before an 8 run explosion in the top of the fourth.
Madi Giles led the Cards going 3-5 with three runs scored and three RBI's.
Rachel Potvin finished 4-5 with three runs scored.
Shelby McGraw (13-8) tossed 6.2 innings in relief of
Nona Pauline to earn the win.
In game two the Cardinals jumped out to a 6-0 lead with three runs in the first and three in the second.
Brooke Bernard,
Madi Giles and
Aerin Creamer all had two RBI's for Jewell.
Faith Song (7-3) earned the win going all seven innings giving up seven hits and striking out four.
The Cards (29-20 and 15-13 GLVC) will wrap up the 2015 regular season with a doubleheader on Sunday at McKendree.
