The William Jewell College men's soccer team (1-5-0, 0-4 Great Lakes Valley Conference) gave up three second-half goals in a seventeen-minute span and were shut out 3-0 by McKendree University on Friday evening.
The Cards battled the Bearcats (4-1, 4-0 GLVC) to a 0-0 tie in the first half.
The Bearcats scored their first goal at the 58:51 mark of the second half followed by an own goal at the 61:40 mark. McKendree put the game away with their final goal of the game at 75:57.
The Cards were outshot 20-10 including an 8-3 advantage for shots on goal. Keeper
Joe Keeven recorded five saves on the night.
Jewell continues its GLVC road swing on Sunday, when the Cardinals take on University of Illinois-Springfield. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m.
