The William Jewell College women's soccer team hosted the #15 Bellarmine University Knights in Great Lakes Valley Conference action on Friday evening at Greene Stadium.  The Knights came into the contest at 7-0 their best start in program history and remained undefeated after shutting out the Cardinals 2-0. 
 
Bellarmine got on the board first in the 16th minute as Lauren Holder scored an unassisted goal.  The Knights would tack on another unassisted goal at the 33:27 mark when Polly Marino scored her first goal of the season. 
 
The Cardinals defense tightened up in the second half and held the Knights to only two shots but Jewell could not convert on any of their second half opportunities. 
 
The loss drops the Cardinals to 3-3-2 overall and 1-3-1 in GLVC play.  Bellarmine moves to 8-0 and 5-0 in conference. 
 
The Cardinals return to action on Sunday as they host University of Southern Indiana.  Kick-off is set for 12:00 p.m.
