The William Jewell volleyball team fell to 4-8 overall and 0-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference after dropping a contest at McKendree University in straight sets, 17-25, 9-25, and 13-25.
The Bearcats dominated majority of the match outscoring Jewell 53 to 21. They nearly doubled the Cardinals' kill number by posting 41 to Jewell's 17.
Freshman
Raechel Meisinger led with eight kills, followed by
Kaylee Marquardt with four, and
Paige Cunningham with two. The same three players also led the team in digs with eight, seven, and six respectively.
In her first start of the season,
Stefanie Richterkessing posted a team-high 12 assists while Meisinger, along with
Emery Driskel, and
Grace Miller each totaled two blocks a piece.
The Cardinals resume GLVC action tomorrow as they are at Illinois Springfield for a 3:00 p.m. match up with the Prairie Stars who fell in straight sets to No. 13 Rockhurst Friday night.
