The William Jewell women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Quincy on Sunday to fall to 1-7-2 overall and 1-6-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
The Cardinals, who have now gone six games without a goal, missed several opportunities in both halves as Jewell posted 19 shots with 11 on goal. A game full of opportunities on both sides, Quincy recorded 25shots with nine on goal.
After an opening half that saw the two teams combine for 21 shots but no goals the Hawks strung together three in less than 20 minutes as Natalie Quisenberry scored in the 64th minute followed by Cassidy Foley in the 73rd and Allison Birke off a rebound in the 80th minute.
Jewell was led by
Aspen Hawkins with five shots, including four on goal.
Emma Baldridge collected three shots while Haley White,
Shalynn Thomas, and
Allison Malott added two each. Goal keeper
Jordan Lewis postd six saves in 90 minutes of work.
The Cardinals will be on the road next weekend as they travel to Southern Indiana and Bellarmine for two GLVC contests.
