The William Jewell College men's soccer team took on Missouri S&T in Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Friday night.

It was also senior night for the men as they honored Jeff Nickel, Kit Russel, Quinton Conyers, Justin Riley, Ethan Delaney, Brett Jackson, Luke Heaton, Gavin Kiger, and Joe Keeven.

The Miners were able to come away with a 1-0 victory to improve to 9-1-6 overall and 8-0-5 in the GLVC.  The loss drops the Cards to 2-12-1 overall and 2-9-1 in league play. 

S&T scored the only goal of the contest at the 14:25 mark when Will McIntyre knocked home his fourth goal of the season.

Jewell was only able to get five shots off in the game and just two on goal. 

Senior goalie Luke Heaton played all 90 minutes and saved six shots for Jewell.

The Cardinals will travel to Springfield, Mo., on Sunday to take on Drury University.  Kick-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
