The William Jewell College women's soccer team hosted Missouri S&T on Friday in Great Lakes Valley Conference action.
It was also senior night as the Cardinals honored
Emily Monroe,
Madison Allshouse,
Natalie Owens, and
Sydney White.
The Miners spoiled senior night blanking Jewell 1-0 to improve to 4-9-0 overall and 4-8-0 in the GLVC. William Jewell drops to 3-10-2 overall and 3-9-1 in league play.Â
The Cardinals controlled possession for much of the first half and did not allow a shot until the 30:08 mark of the first half.
The Miners found fortune at the 43:47 mark when Kayla Foster scored from just inside the goalie box to give S&T a halftime lead of 1-0.
The Cards were only able to get off four shots in the second half and the Miners held on for the 1-0 shutout victory.Â
Monroe led the Cards in shots on the night with three.
The Cardinals will travel to Springfield, Mo., on Sunday to take on Drury University at 12:00 p.m.
