Box Score The William Jewell College men's basketball dropped its fifth straight Monday night to Wayne State College, 79-52, in Wayne, Neb.
The Cardinals scored the first two points of the game but never led the rest of the way.Â
Jewell trailed by four with 3:40 remaining in the first, only to see Wayne State finish the half on a 12-3 run, and led 43-31 at the break.
The second half was all Wildcats as they built a lead as large as 29.
Jorge Perez-Laham and
Emil Ostafiiciuc were the only Cardinal players to reach double digits in scoring with 15 and 14 points respectively.Â
Wayne State had six players score in double figures and shot 50.9% from the field for the game.
William Jewell returns to the court Monday, January 2 when they wrap up non-conference play against Graceland University at 7:30 p.m. at the Mabee Center.
