The William Jewell Cardinals closed out their three game series against Wisconsin-Parkside today at Talley Stadium. Jewell was able to hold on for 4-3 lead a three game series sweep. The win moves the Cardinals to 13-6 while Parkside drops to 3-8. Jewell has now won 7 straight and 13 of the last 15 games.
Jewell got on the board in the bottom of the first when
Dane Erbst knocked home
Garrett McKinzie which was all the Cards could muster in the first.
Parkside scored a single run in the top of the third only to see Jewell re-take the lead in the bottom of the fourth when
Zach Saalfeld's double scored
Dylan Christie.
The Cards had runners on second and third with one out but the Rangers were able to escape further trouble.
McKinzie drove home his team leading 20th RBI of the season in the bottom of the seventh on a sharp ground ball to second to put Jewell up 3-1.
Andrew Miller then drove home a run on an error by the Parkside centerfielder that padded the lead to 4-1 after seven innings.
Parkside then manufactured two runs in the top of the eighth to cut Jewell's lead to 4-3.

Dylan Pollock recorded his second win of the year to improve to 2-1.
Offensively, Carney led Jewell going three for four with a run scored while Christie was two for four with an RBI and a run scored.
The Cardinals open up Great Lakes Valley Conference play against cross town rival Rockhurst University in a doubleheader on Friday, March 25 in Kansas City, Mo. First pitch is set for game one is 3:00 p.m.
